Israel is considered one of the most advanced countries in Southwest Asia in economic and industrial development. Located at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea, the country is bounded by Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan to the east, and Egypt to the southwest.
In terms of physical size, Israel is a small country, but it is also quite unique and special. While it is possible to cross the country in less then six hours, by doing so you will experience every kind of landscape, from very high mountains to the lowest point on earth, from sand dunes to agricultural fields, and from small towns to modern bustling metropolises dotted with with skyscrapers.
Tourism, especially religious tourism, is an important industry in Israel. The country boasts a temperate climate, beaches, archaeological and historical sites, and unique landscapes that draw millions of tourists.
